We are Premier Kennels, a family-run business and we opened our doors on the 1st of September 2022.

The business was ten years in the making with Andrew and Sheila trying to start the business before sourcing kennels and planning permission caused issues.

Granddaughter Shannon picked up the reigns and had more success in the buildup to the launch in 2022 and we are now based in quiet Girlsta, surrounded by Andrew and Sheila’s croft. Having grown up on crofts, working with many animals, none of it would have been possible without our trusty sidekicks. Andrew has competed for many years at dog trials in the UK, competing at the highest level.

Having all spent all our lives with dogs, we know the unique needs and personalities of every dog. There had been no boarding kennels for a long time in Shetland so we thought it was important to fill that gap.

We have lots of plans and ambitions to ensure every dog feels at home at Premier Kennels, and we wholeheartedly love what we do.
